hello! i’m Astra, a 27 year old furry living in pennsylvania and doing tech things usually.

my pronouns are he/they.

for fun, i like to do photography and cinematography, play video games (sometimes on twitch.tv), listen to/make music, and code, just to name a few hobbies. i could probably go on but then i think i’d start listing all generic hobbies; yes i like movies, tv, etc.

for work, i am a senior cyber security researcher and engineer. oooh fancy.

i do computer stuff using:

• windows 11
  • desktop (built myself)
  • laptop (idk some generic razer model that i bought when my last laptop broke)
  • i only really use window because gaming, but…
• steam deck
  • is making me re-think the whole windows thing; proton seems to work well in a lot of games…
  • was already team linux before with windows for compatability reasons. before i had a computer that could actually play modern games, my daily driver laptop was running linux. took all my notes in college on that thing (unless the professor was weird and said i couldn’t, in which case i spent the semester disliking them)
  • what was this bullet point about again? oh right. steam deck. it’s great.
  • i wonder if i have some undiagnosted adhd or something sometimes /genuine
• proxmox as the hypervisor for my homelab
• ubuntu (usually) for most servers in my homelab
• pixel 8 pro
